2. Great Dane

The Great Dane is known for its enormous size. Typically they grow to about 32 inches tall and weigh between 100 and 120 pounds.

When standing upright this breed of dog towers over most other breeds and sometimes even humans.

Although their size may suggest one thing their personalities are quite different. A Great Dane is considered to be a gentle giant. Especially with children they are affectionate and playful.

It is a cross between the French breeds Grand Bleu de Gascogne and Grand Gascon-Saintongeois.

In their long history the breed has been threatened by extinction several times due to crossbreeding. Nevertheless people succeeded in increasing their population by strictly breeding only Ariegeois with each other.

We suggest naming your Ariegeois with an easy-to-pronounce name if you decide to get one as a pet. You may want to name him Jimmy. Or something along those lines. Its up to you. 

5. Miniature Bull Terrier

Around 11-13 inches in height and 20-28 pounds in weight they usually grow to about 11-13 inches. Playful affectionate and bright they usually reach 11-13 inches in height.

8. Canaan Dog

A breed known for its loyalty and protection they will not hesitate to defend themselves or their owners if attacked. 10. Bluetick Coonhound

A common characteristic of the Bluetick Coonhound breed is its friendliness obedience and energy. A typical adult weighs about 55 to 80 pounds and grows to a height of 22-27 inches. Bluetick Coonhounds were bred to be hunting dogs and they are fast strong and intelligent. It is their strong sense of smell that leads them to explore new places and meet new people. Although Bluetick Coonhounds are hunters they also make excellent companions and pets because of their innate friendly and thoughtful nature. 

11. Pointer
